Kicking-off AquaPolis’ Marine Tilapia Aquaculture Research Programme with a Shared Vision

April 27, 2026

AquaPolis has kicked off its second research programme, “Holistic Programme for Improvement of Marine Tilapia Aquaculture” marking an important step forward in the effort to strengthen Singapore’s aquaculture future.

The session brought together the project team to share an overview of the programme’s direction, key priorities, and the plans set out for the next three months. With a clear focus on innovation, coordination, and practical impact, the discussion highlighted how the team will work together to build a more resilient and productive marine tilapia sector.

A valued part of the meeting was the presence of our collaborator, the Singapore Agro-Food Enterprises Federation (SAFEF). Their contribution added an important industry perspective, helping to shape the conversation around project plans and their potential application in the wider aquaculture ecosystem. The exchange reflected a shared commitment to translating research into meaningful progress for the sector.

As the programme begins, it is positioned to move with clarity and purpose. With strong collaboration across partners and a forward-looking roadmap ahead, AquaPolis remains committed to driving solutions that support sustainable aquaculture innovation in Singapore.
