AquaPolis hosted the inaugural AquaMingle on 27 August, gathering about 100 participants from across Singapore’s aquaculture community—industry leaders, startup founders, farm operators, researchers, and students. The energy in the room reflected a community that is not only growing but actively shaping the future of sustainable aquaculture through collaboration.

We were honoured to welcome Professor Emeritus Patrick Sorgeloos, Ghent University, and Dr Albert Tacon, Founder of AquaHana LLC, who shared timely perspectives on the global trajectory of aquaculture and the opportunities ahead for Singapore.
Creating Spaces for Knowledge Exchange and Open Discussions
Designed to lower barriers, spark new connections, and accelerate ideas from concept to collaboration, AquaMingle blended quick science spotlights on the latest advances in aquaculture research in Singapore, open-mic pitches, and purposeful networking. By creating space for quick knowledge exchange and real-time pitches, we aimed to build real bridges between research and industry to accelerate responsible innovation and scale solutions that works.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who joined, contributed, and challenged ideas constructively. We are heartened by the strong turnout and active participation as this signals a clear appetite for deeper, more coordinated collaboration across our ecosystem.
We are already planning for the next AquaMingle – expect more ideas, more voices, and more impact. If you are working on health, nutrition, systems engineering, genetics, or adjacent areas that can advance aquaculture, do reach out to us!
